Great Neck South’s Exit 33 Awarded REALM First Class Distinction by NCTE
Exit 33, Great Neck South High School’s literary and art magazine, has been recognized as a REALM First Class magazine by the National Council of Teachers of English (NCTE).
This year, schools in 46 states and five countries nominated 422 student magazines. Magazines from middle school, high school, and higher education were welcomed for the 2024 contest. Exit 33 was one of 125 magazines awarded the contest’s highest distinction, REALM First Class.

South High School is pleased to announce that twenty-two students have been named Semifinalists in the prestigious 2025 National Merit Scholarship Competition (NMSC). These South High School seniors are recognized for their "exceptional academic ability and potential for success in rigorous college studies.

Our recent Club Fair was a great success, offering students the opportunity to explore and learn about the wide variety of clubs available at South High School. From academic clubs to creative and community-focused groups, the fair highlighted the many ways students can get involved, make new friends, and pursue their passions.

The School of Distinction Award recognizes that all 2023-24 Rebels varsity teams qualified for the Scholar-Athlete Team award during their respective season.
