Erin Wong Earns Top Award at ISEF

South High senior Erin Wong won a second place award at the 2025 Regeneron International Science and Engineering Fair, the world’s largest global science competition for high school students.

Congratulations to our Great Neck Girls Varsity Golf team on their FIFTH consecutive Long Island Championship title!

The team continues to shine on the golf course, winning their sixth consecutive Nassau County Championship and bringing home the Long Island Championship.

2025 All-Eastern Honors Ensembles

Two South High School musicians represented GNPS in the 2025 All-Eastern Honors Ensembles, sponsored by the National Association for Music Educators (NAfME). Dylan Kim and Sarah Sun from South High School, were selected for these prestigious ensembles from a pool of talented musicians across the northeastern United States.

SHS Artists Kaitlyn Wu and Grace Chen Featured in Prestigious Heckscher Exhibit

South High artists Kaitlyn Wu and Grace Chen recently had pieces on exhibit in the highly competitive 2025 Long Island’s Best: Young Artists at The Heckscher Museum. Kaitlyn's artwork, “Eternal Breath,” acrylic on canvas with found objects, and Grace's artwork, “Convergence,” oil on canvas, were created in Ms. Cashman's College Advanced Art class.

Great Neck South’s Exit 33 Awarded REALM First Class Distinction by NCTE

Exit 33, Great Neck South High School’s literary and art magazine, has been recognized as a REALM First Class magazine by the National Council of Teachers of English (NCTE).

This year, schools in 46 states and five countries nominated 422 student magazines. Magazines from middle school, high school, and higher education were welcomed for the 2024 contest. Exit 33 was one of 125 magazines awarded the contest’s highest distinction, REALM First Class.

South High School is pleased to announce that twenty-two students have been named Semifinalists in the prestigious 2025 National Merit Scholarship Competition (NMSC). These South High School seniors are recognized for their "exceptional academic ability and potential for success in rigorous college studies.
